Cascade

The Momentum Engine

We provide change makers, innovators and transformation leaders our full suite of workshops, sprints and coaching to build social capital and momentum for change across their organization.

The Challenge

Disruptors, mavericks, change makers and innovators often struggle to build the relationships they need for their breakthrough ideas to succeed.

This is because the kind of thinking required to create something new is very different from the kind of thinking required to get others on board.

So our goal is simple:

To help you build social capital and momentum for your initiative – from wherever you are today – until you have:

  • An engaged group of champions actively participating
  • Visible, valuable and verifiable wins – celebrated every month
  • A growing movement, with key stakeholders joining every week

Until you reach the tipping point where people are asking to be part of what you’re building – instead of you having to convince them to join.

Who Should Work With Us?

We have worked with innovators and transformation leaders in over 100 large and mid-sized organisations, helping them bring their breakthrough ideas to life.

Including clients like Airbus, First Command, Lufthansa-Airplus, Novartis, Pfizer, Pearson, TD Ameritrade, Sealed Air, Schreiber Foods and Standard Bank.

And this year, it could be your turn.

We work with just a handful of leaders every year, so we are looking for the right fit.

This won’t work for you if:

  • At the beginning of your initiative:
You think leaders can push change & people will simply fall in line.
  • Struggling to get traction after starting:
You believe that resistance to change means people are the problem.
  • Looking to scale after early success:
You’re looking for quick fixes, hacks, templates or a communication plan.

This will work for you if:

  • At the beginning of your initiative:
You want to inspire change by engaging stakeholders early.
  • Struggling to get traction after starting:
You’re willing to do the work to create real stakeholder buy-in.
  • Looking to scale after early success:
You want to create momentum by building something people want to be part of.

The plan is simple

Research on organizational change shows that when you have less than 25% of your organization supporting your progress is slow and fragile.

But once you reach that milestone, change accelerates and becomes self-sustaining.

Most leaders reach this tipping point within 18–24 months – starting with visible wins in the first 90 days.

Ignite – Gain Foothold

In the first 90 days,  we will run The Ignite Sprint™. We  will focus on building belief and proving that your breakthrough ideas work.

We use The Buy-In Matrix™ to identify and engage with early adopters – the people most likely to support your idea.

Then we work with them to create visible, valuable and verifiable wins

These early wins build credibility and trust.

By the end of this phase you will have:

  • A small group that believes in the initiative
  • Early adopters that are actively contributing
  • Visible wins that others can see and talk about

Cascade – Build Momentum

Now that you have proof, we focus on making the initiative spread.

We turn your early wins into stories – sharing and celebrating them so others start to pay attention.

As those stories spread, new stakeholders – beyond early adopters – begin to join.

At the same time – using our The Momentum Engine™ – we will continue creating wins with this growing network.

We also remove barriers and blockers, making it easier for people to contribute.

By the end of this phase:

  • Stories of success are spreading across the organisation
  • A growing network of stakeholders is getting involved
  • Participation is increasing beyond early adopters

Breakthrough – Tipping Point

In the final phase, we focus on reaching the tipping point.

This is where we double down and continue to build momentum until breakthrough.

We will also begin putting in place the support systems that will help institutionalise the change.

With enough belief and participation in place, the organizational dynamic shifts.

We use The Momentum Scorecard™ to track progress and make momentum visible to key stakeholders.

You will see people begin to ask to be part of what you’re building – instead of you convincing them to join.

By the end of this phase:

  • Momentum becomes self-sustaining
  • People are actively asking to join the movement
  • The transformation continues without constant pushing

You can then focus on embedding the change so it lasts.

We will get you momentum in 90 days.
Then build it up until it becomes unstoppable.
